We purchased a pole vault pad and standards. It's a nice setup on top of a concrete slab. We placed the pad on top of wooden pallets in order to keep the pads as dry as possible.

Our two pits are far from finished. There are some finishing touches that need to be done, but they are operational.

Our three new additions this year will allow us to run meets much smoother for the Rotary (3-26-08), Panther relays (4-11-08), the J.H. District (4-14-08), and the Varsity District (4-16-08).
ITEMS OF INTERESTS:
Friday, April 11, 2008 - Panther Relays at Jackson Academy. This will be a smaller meet with 6 schools. This will be a great primer meet with District coming the next week. We'll allow 2 participants in every event (including lane races) so that we can get a good look at where we are going to fill our spots for each event. We'll need a great deal of help with this as well. There will be around 1,000 people at this meet.
Monday, April 14, 2008 - J.H. District Track Meet. Possibly up to four schools (boys & girls). Not as big as Rotary Meet, but still need help.
Wednesday, April 16, 2008 - H.S. District Track Meet. This will be larger than J.H. meet. Ninth graders will be bumped up to high school squad. This is a qualifier for the next week's North State Meet at Washington School in Greenville, MS. We need as much help as possible.
Thank you Panther Nation! GO PANTHERS!!!
